Installation FAIL - "Wrong Type" (db)

    Hi.

So  I am trying to install K2 BlackPoint on a K2-product-free environment and I am getting those errors here:

Database is SQL 2005 Server Developer Edition. Any hints?

I think that only SQL server Standard or Enterprise are currently supported.

Check this thread here where the guys managed to do it on SQL Express:

     http://www.k2underground.com/forums/2/25099/ShowThread.aspx

Installed Point Beta 1 on SQL Express, here are the steps I had to follow:

    • Open SQL Server Configuration Manager, expand SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration, Protocols for SQLEXPRESS, Enable Named Pipes.
    • Open SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration, select Surface Area Configuration for services and connections, Expand Data base Engine node and select Remote connections in the tree view, Under Local and remote connections select a option that include named pipes.

Make sure to add your database name in the K2 configuration as TESTSQL\SQLEXPRESS

Those settings are already enabled (set) by default in the SQL Developer edition. Named pipes are enabled and remote connections through named pipes also.

     Thanks.

If you had blackperl previously installed, and you uninstalled it to install blackpoint, the databases will still exist, you need to manually delete them and then things should go ok.
