  • Best practices for upgrading to 807

I am getting ready to upgrade a MOSS farm (about K2 server obviously :-) ) from K2 blackpearl 803 to the 807 release, and I want to see what hints and/or best practices there were for making the upgrade as hassle free as possible. I looked around the ''Getting Start'' guide and it appears to be the same (or very similar) to the 803 guide, so I ...

  • Administrator unable to access workspace functions

My sysadmin just installed K2 on a standalone machine so I can develop K2 apps. When I login as myself, I see all of the workspace options: Reports, Management, Notifications and Security. When I login as the K2 administrator, I only see the Reports tab. So, I can't set permissions. As an aside, all of the K2 accounts have the same user ...

  • Determining K2 Patch Level

What is the best way to determine the patch level of a installed K2 instance?  I am trying to debug a problem, and I am not entirely certain I upgraded the MOSS front end to  0803 Patch (4.8075.1.1) KB000289. I have checked the GAC and I notice that the SourceCode.Install.Common assembly has an assembly version of 4.8075.1.0 which seems ...

  • K2 Admin UI Links missing

Hello,  I am in the process of deploying K2 to a new environment and have nearly completed the entire process with the exception of a missing UI element in the central admin. Normally in central admin a tab appears after installing K2 labeled ''K2 for SharePoint'', however that is absent in this installation. I have tried using stsadm to ...

  • Re: is it necessary?

The best way to perform a successful installation is to follow the instructions carefully.   Do not skip steps and make sure all prerequisites are met. The documentation is very specific for a reason.  Follow the installation documentation carefully step-by-step for your chosen configuration, then double-check your work.  ...

  • Re: Workspace Configuration Error

I would suggest opening a helpdesk ticket.  But here are a few ideas: It sounds like this assembly in the gac is corrupted.  If you have another intstall of the same software version, you could try copying the assembly from that one and installing it in the gac on this install.  If not, when you uninstall, make sure this ...

  • K2 for Reporting Services wrongly claims to error during Configuration

Just an FYI for everyone out there: If you are installing K2 [blackpearl] 0803 (new install or upgrade), and your SQL Reporting Services is on a separate server from your K2 Workspace, beware.  Configuration Manager on your SSRS server will complete with a ''FAILURE''. This failure is a ''false positive'' - it ends in a failed state, but ...
